Donna Brown Benton

Her story

Donna Brown Benton educated secondary students for four decades. She was a mother to teenage girls when her husband, Doug, was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s at age fifty.

For the next sixteen years, she companioned Doug as a wife and caregiver while shepherding their family of four. Through this book, she illustrates her passion for an enhanced experience for all touched by dementia.

“This holistic, expansive attitude supports and transforms the experience of those companioning — and in turn, those living with dementia.”

Donna passionately shares her and Doug’s dementia story in hopes that it will find a home for others and serve as inspiration as they live their own.
